- Account for moving speed of bicycles
- Better when placed 30 yards from corner, NOT at corner
- Place well before bottom of hill or steep section
- Increase distance from corner for racing events
- Place for notification of upcoming obstacle or hazards
- Place according to topography
- In line of sight
- Crest or bottom of hill
- Prior to curve
- Above or below roadway level
- Select angle based on line of sight of cyclist (perpendicular or other)
- Blocked by trees, bushes, land, buildings, turns, vehicles or sun glare?
- Best on level surface = Dig-out or build-up surface
- Wind is created by moving cars and trucks
- Attach to permanent sign, pole or road edge markers
- DO NOT place in conflict with other important road signs
- DO NOT place in conflict with other potential distractions or sights
- DO NOT make rider turn head to look for sign
